Open Hearts, Open Minds
Sacred Heart is proud to be part of Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese's system of 80 Catholic primary and secondary schools operating across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains providing more than 46,000 students with a high-quality, low fee Catholic education.
Sacred Heart Primary is a Catholic faith community, committed to the formation of the whole child - spiritually, academically, emotionally and creatively. We are diverse and welcoming, where each person is known, respected and valued. We inspire open hearts and open minds so all may learn, live, and love with dignity, purpose and faith.
Open Hearts, Open Minds
Our school is committed to creating a learning community where:
Our school crest
Our crest beautifully captures the heart of who we are as a Catholic learning community. Every element has been thoughtfully designed to reflect our charism of "Open Hearts, Open Minds" - a commitment to faith, learning, compassion and belonging.
The heart reminds us to love, the cross calls us to faith, while the hands encourage service and belonging.

Our history
We are part of the Westmead Catholic Community and are excited about enhancing Catholic education in Westmead.
Our school brings together the proud histories of Sacred Heart Primary (RS) Westmead and Mother Teresa Primary Westmead, united in a shared commitment to Catholic education, faith and service.
Catholic education in Westmead began in 1956 when Sacred Heart Primary (RS) was established by the Sisters of Mercy. Originally a feeder school for Parramatta Marist Junior School, Sacred Heart (RS) became a full Kindergarten to Year 6 school in 1991 and has long been recognised for its strong parish connection, welcoming community and Mercy tradition
As the Westmead community grew, Mother Teresa Primary was established to meet increasing demand for Catholic education. Its first Kindergarten class began in 2010 on the Sacred Heart campus before the school officially opened on the Darcy Road site in 2012. By 2014, Mother Teresa Primary had grown into a thriving Kindergarten to Year 6 school inspired by the compassion and service of Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
In Term 3, 2026, Sacred Heart Primary (RS) and Mother Teresa Primary came together to form a new Catholic primary school on the Darcy Road campus as part of the Westmead Catholic Community. Our state-of-the-art learning environment honours the rich heritage of both schools while embracing a shared future of excellence in learning, faith and community.
