Celebrating 40 years of Voice of Youth and the power of student voice
Six Year 6 students from 58 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) Primary schools came together at St John XXIII Catholic College Stanhope Gardens on 22 September for the Voice of Youth Grand Final, showcasing their public speaking skills through a series of thoughtful and engaging speeches.

π’β Year 4 have been making some tough decisions as they explored the experiences of convicts who travelled to Australia on the First Fleet! Students worked in groups to decide what they believed would have been most important to the convicts during their journey and arrival. They had to share their ideas, listen to different perspectives and compromise as a group to reach a final decision. π€π Students then justified their choices, providing reasons for why they believed some things were more important than others. A fantastic way to develop historical understanding while building teamwork, reasoning and decision-making skills! πβ¨

Our Year 6 students have been putting their creative thinking skills to work as they develop engaging problems based on a given stimulus. πβ¨ They have been exploring how a simple idea can grow into an exciting complication, thinking carefully about what could go wrong, how the problem might escalate and how it could shape their story. ππ€ We canβt wait to see where their ideas take them! ππ
